Ancient coins have their own language of symbols and wear patterns that can be tough to figure out. After some trial and error I found a tool that handles them better than I expected. I photograph both sides carefully and this coin identification tool gives me the ruler, approximate date, and basic value info. It has helped me understand legends and mints I never would have recognized on my own. I’ve already added several interesting pieces to my collection thanks to the quick feedback.
